Create an Account

To Create an Account:

1. Go to twitter.com.
2. Enter your Full name, Email, and Password into the form. As with all online services, choosing a strong password is important. Your password should be difficult for someone else to guess, but easy for you to remember..
3. Click the Sign up for Twitter button.
4. A form will appear. You will need to confirm your information, and choose a username that hasn't already been taken.
5. Read through the Terms of Service and then click Create my account.
6. The Twitter welcome page will appear. This page will help you get your account set up, but the suggestions are optional at this stage. Click Next to continue.
7.  You can now start choosing who to follow. A list of people you can follow will appear. You must choose five people to follow before clicking Next. However, if you're not ready to spend time doing this now, you can click Skip this step at the bottom of the page and choose who you want to follow later. 
8.  Twitter will also suggest people to follow based on your interests. To continue, select five people to follow and click Next. You can also click Skip this step at the bottom of the page to do this later. 
9.  You can automatically find people you know by selecting a service that you use, such as an email account. For example, if you have a Gmail account, Twitter can look for your Gmail contacts that are already using Twitter. Click Skip this step at the bottom of the page if you would like to do this later.
10.  You can add a profile picture and bio to your account. If you feel comfortable with this process, you can upload a photo now, or you can Skip this step. We will explain how to customize your profile later in the lesson.
11. our new Twitter homepage will appear.

• At this point, Twitter will send a confirmation email to the email address that you provided.  Before you can access all of Twitter's features, you'll need to confirm your email address

To Confirm Your Email Address:

1. Log in to your email account.
2. Open the confirmation message from Twitter: "Confirm your Twitter account, username!"
3. Click the link to confirm your account.
4. Your Twitter homepage will open. You now have full access to Twitter, and all future notifications will be sent to the email address you provided.
