Uploading Pictures and Videos Features of Facebook

Upload Pictures and Videos

Introduction

Facebook can be a great tool for sharing pictures and videos with your Friends. It's quick, it's easy, and like everything else on Facebook, it's free, with no limit to how many photo albums or videos you can upload.

Tips for Sharing Photos and Videos

Facebook lets you upload photos and short videos from your computer and share them with your Friends, who can view and even comment on them.
Before you start sharing photos and videos, keep these things in mind:
  • Only upload photos and videos you havepermission to upload. For instance, don't upload YouTube videos or copyrighted photos. Instead, sharelinks to those things on your Wall.
  • Think carefully about the photos and videos you upload. Before sharing images of your friends, think about whether the material is inappropriate, embarrassing or too personal. If you think your Friends would be uncomfortable or displeased with other people seeing a photo or video, don’t post it on Facebook.
  • Consider using privacy settings to limit the people who can view your photos. While your friends might be excited to see those party pictures, you might not want your boss to see them

Sharing Photos

To Upload Photos into a New Facebook Album:

  1. In the left pane, locate the Apps group, then click on Photos. If the Photos option isn't visible, hover overApps and click More.
  2. A page will appear with a feed of your Friends' recent photo tags. Select + Upload Photos.
  3. A dialog box will appear. Click Select Photos.
  4. Browse for and select the desired photos, then click Open. To select more than one photo at a time, hold down the Ctrl key as you click each photo you want to upload.
  5. As your photos are uploaded, you'll be able to enter information about your album. You can also adjust two settings:
    • Quality: Choose Standard to upload your photos in a smaller, compressed form, or High Resolution, to upload them at their original quality. Note that the High Resolution option takes much longer.
    • Share album with: This adjusts the privacy level of the album. You can choose to make your album viewable to Everyone on Facebook, Friends of Friends (your friends, as well as their own friends), or your Friends Only. You can also Customize your album settings to further limit the people who may view it.
  6. Once you are satisfied with your album settings, click Create Album.
  7. Next, if applicable, you will be asked to tag your Friends in the photos. When you tag friends, you'reidentifying them. Facebook will display the faces of people in your album. Simply type the name that matches each face in the box underneath. Facebook might fill in some of those names for you. (You can either confirmor reject Facebook's suggestions.)
